Meet Maria Vitoratos (AKA: Ms.V)
Hi, I’m Maria Vitoratos, but most people know me as Ms. V.
I’m a career strategist, educator, and doctoral researcher focused on youth career readiness. Since 2008, I've worked with thousands of students, and supported students in high school and university preparing for their future career. I also support employers recruiting young talent with internships, and fresh graduates beginning their first career milestone.
I grew up listening to people’s stories around the kitchen table with conversations about work, sacrifice, change, life, and decisions made under pressure. Together with my education and research, those early narratives shaped how I understand careers today. Because no one tells you this but choosing a career has never been just about a job. Your career is a complex decision shaped by life experiences, resilience, and essential strategies. Sadly, schools don't teach career strategy; they help your teen apply to university.
That belief sits at the heart of my work. I’m deeply committed to helping young people make relevant, informed career decisions; not just aspirational ones. My focus is on career readiness, labour-market alignment, and the systems universities use to support students from degree choice through to employment.

I'm not your typical career counsellor; I'm a strategist, program designer, career education researcher, and the solopreneur disrupting how schools deliver career guidance in the Middle East. I bring curiosity, transparency, and a touch of humour to career conversations that are often oversimplified or avoided altogether. Students describe me as energetic, honest, and slightly obsessed with careers (they’re not wrong). I believe clarity beats hype, and relevance matters more than prestige.
Through my Virtual Careers Hub, I prepare students for global careers in a world where humans are competing with machines for future work. So, part of my strategy is to help parents, just like you, feel more confident when having career conversations with their teens at home.
